Grounding of electrical equipment, that’s what you need to know

In power operation, we all know that grounding can prevent personal shock, but in addition to this role, it can also prevent damage to lines and equipment, prevent fires, prevent lightning strikes, prevent static damage, etc., to ensure the normal operation of the power system.

So what exposed parts of electrical equipment can be ungrounded?

1. In places where electrical equipment is not conductive, such as electrical equipment with poor conductivity and insulation walls such as wood and asphalt, when the corresponding conditions are met.

2. In dry places of electrical equipment, exposed conductive parts of electrical equipment or electrical devices with rated AC voltage below 50V and rated DC voltage below 120V, except places with explosion hazards.

3. The shell of low-voltage electrical appliances such as electric measuring instruments and relays installed on the distribution panel, control panel and electrical equipment, as well as the metal insulator base that will not produce dangerous voltage on the support when the insulation is damaged.

4, electrical equipment in good contact with the equipment, such as the casing base, installed on the grounding of the metal frame, except for explosive danger places.

5, rated voltage 220V and below battery room support.

6. Exposed conductive parts of motors and electrical appliances that have reliable electrical contact with the grounding frame, except in places with explosive hazards.

Although some components may not need to be grounded, precautions should be taken to prevent them from happening.
