The Preformed pole top make off is primarily intender for pole top termination of stay strand when a stay insulator is being used.The fitting is manufactured with three strands of high tensile and one strand of medium tensile galvanized steel wire .When applied at the pole top,the completed tail forms the correct stranding and diameter of stay wire to suit the range of guy grip dead ends shown on the data sheet.The guy grip dead end is attached to the stay insulator ,avoiding the need for a separate of stay strand . The top make off can also be used for earthed construction in conjunction with a PREFORMED line splice The Medium tensile quality wire is for bonding/earthing purposes if required.When it is not needed the short end should be unwrapped from the stranding back to the top and either cut off or stapled to the top. The Pole top make off is suitable for varying pole diameter,it is also available in two lengths,to permit alternative pole top insulator spacing.
Note
1.The PREFORMED POLE TOP MAKE OFF should not be used on live line construction.
2.The PREFORMED Pole top make off is usually manufactured from galvanized steel, but can also be produced from other materials to match whatever stay strand is being used.
3.The lay direction must be the same as that of the strand with which it is used.
